Match Report by Tony Middleton
HORNCHURCH 6 WARE 1
In the first minute Jon Green was put through but sent his shot wide of the goal, and in the second minute Nicky Driver also found himself clear through the middle, and also put his shot wide of the goal. Three successive corners followed, as Hornchurch continued to dominate, kicking towards the windmill end, and they eventually took the lead when Nicky Driver weaved his way through on the right and crossed into the goalmouth where JON GREEN headed home.

Ware only rarely came forward but could have levelled when Tyler Hatherly weaved through past two defenders, only to put his shot over the bar, and a similar opening shortly afterwards found Mike Ryan clear, and his lobbed shot was tipped over the bar for a corner by Michael Bowditch.. Hornchurch won another corner and after a lengthy spell of pressure they went further ahead when ROSS WALL made a solo run from the half way line and calmly slipped the ball home. Three minutes later JON GREEN came in from the left to create space for himself, and scored with a well placed shot through a packed defence.

In a one sided second half Hornchurch made it four nil when Ross Wall opened up the left side, cut inside, looked up, and crossed to NATHAN TOOMS who fired home. A minute later Ross Wall went speeding through the middle, but put his shot wide. Another corner was cleared and Hornchurch continued to bombard the visiting goal, and they went five up when DAVEY O’KEEFE came in from the right wing to hammer the ball home. Two minutes later ROSS WALL again made a solo run through the middle and hammered a left footed shot home from the edge of the area. Another corner, which was cleared and the ball was played up field for SAM LEADER to run on and score. Ware had two more opportunities, both of which went wide. The final result was six one with two balls lost in the river.

And once again the match was refereed by Dave Axcell, who this time played four seconds over in each half. Usually he blows up right on 45.
